Slåball Game Session Rules

Each session consists of:

1. Warm up- 5mins.
2. Throwing- 10mins.
3. Fielding- 10mins.
4. Hitting- 10mins.
5. Base running- 5mins.
6. Slåball Game- 30mins.

Allow for 2 min. change over time between each station. This will give you time to finish setting up the next station and players to have a drink break. The total amount of time for the modified games component is 48mins. After the completion of the modified games the two teams will play a 30 minute game.

Note: It is recommended that all stations are set up before the commencement of each session. This will allow for a smoother transition between stations.

Rats Rabbits

  • Players face each other in two lines 3m apart
  • One line “Rats”, the other “Rabbits”
  • 5-10m behind each line is a line marked on ground
  • Coach calls out either “Rats” or “Rabbits”
  • Named team must turn and run over line behind them before being touched by opponent
  • Four markers
  • Placed on ground 15-20 m apart

Throwing

Bombs Away! Throwing

  • Split group in two
  • Each group attempts to throw ball into opponents area.
  • Can not throw from in front of your attack line
  • Must throw ball from where you field it
  • Glove for each player
  • Safety ball
  • Four parallel lines, 5m apart (markers)

Fielding

10 Mins Bombs Away! Fielding

  • Split group in two
  • Each group attempts to roll ball over opponents goal line
  • Can not roll from in front of your attack line
  • Must roll ball from where you field it
  • Glove for each player
  • Safety ball
  • Four parallel lines, 5m apart (markers)

Hitting

10 Mins

Beat The Bomb

  • Two even teams
  • Batters must bat behind batting line
  • Batters hit bomb off tee into field
  • Batter then runs around marker (10m away) and tags next batter
  • Next batter must hit bomb off tee before it explodes
  • Fielding team must get bomb back to tee
  • Bomb is reset when placed on tee and will explode after five seconds
  • Tee

Base Running

5 Mins

Train ride

  • In a single file behind coach and jog around bases
  • Coach calls out the base they step on
  • Rest of team follows
  • Have a different driver every time the train reaches home plate
– Set all bases at correct distance
